Item missing from Stock Status report

Came across this about two weeks ago with a client and was tearing my hair out trying to figure it out – comparing ‘good’ items with the ‘bad’  items across all inventory tables and such like. Eventually, the good people of Microsoft Support came up trumps. If you run a stock status report in Microsot Dynamics GP 10, and find that an item (which has an on hand quantity) is missing from the report, verify that the item has a default ‘Inventory’ GL posting account set up (Cards >> Inventory >> Item…call up the item and click on the ‘Accounts’ button). If not, set one up and re-run the stock status report. This is a known issue, although I couldn’t find it on Partner / Customersource. An extension of this is the Historical Stock Status report – make sure the History options are ticked for each item you want to be able to print a historical stock status for.
