How to update decimal place for a currency after you have saved it.

As standard, the decimal places cannot be changed. But we’ve all done it..set it to 4 decimal places cos it seemed like a good idea at the time! Run this script to change the decimal places – where ‘XXX’ = the curency ID. A decplcur value of 3 creates a two digit decimal place, and decplcur of 4 creates a 3 digit decimal place etc.

update mc40200
set decplcur = ?
where decplcur = ?
and curncyid = ‘XXX’

  1. Hi Ian – Will this work when transactions already exist? Are there integrity issues with other tables in the database that need resolved if this script is run?

    • Hi Robert,
This change would truncate existing transactions I believe. You would need to test, including running a complete check links.

      • Thanks Ian. I will test and report back results for the benefit of others.
